Conducting Research: Fee Schedule

The Research Library sets fees for the recovery of costs related to production and research assistance as approved by the Board of Directors of History San José. Photocopies, reproductions including photographs, and other copies are subject to the discretion of the staff in order to protect copyright and other legal issues as well as to insure the long term security and maintenance of the documents and photographs.

Photographs for Non-commercial Use

Fees are for catalogue images only. There will be additional charges as appropriate for larger sizes, special orders, or photographic reproductions of other materials. Fees are the same for black & white, sepia, or color reproductions.

Research Fees

$40.00 per hour with a minimum of 1 hour. Fees for Biographical Research are $5.00 for each name search per resource. Please see the Genealogical / Biographical Research Form for details.

Mailing and Faxing Documents

Mailing	Postage and handling minimum charge of $3.00
Faxing	$3.00 for first page $2.00 for each additional page (Maximum of 20 faxed pages per patron)

Digital Scans to CD (Only available at discretion of archivist & curator)

$25.00, up to 600 dpi TIFF images
Originals up to 8” x 12” or 8” x 10” with color bar

Transfer of moving images
Negotiated on a case by case basis. Minimum of a $100.00 processing and handling fee.

New photography for 3 dimensional objects
Negotiated on a case by case basis.
