About the Neighborhoods of San José Project
Neighborhoods is designed to offer an introduction to the history of each neighborhood for residents and visitors. Each neighborhood is researched using books, articles, pamphlets, and documents from the History San José Research Library, as well as interviews with local historians and residents. The HSJ Research Library has an exhaustive collection of local history reference material which continues to grow.
The information in the online gallery is from HSJ’s collection database. The Collection & Exhibition staff at HSJ record every detail about each object, photograph, and document to preserve the information and make it available to the public.
