History Hike
St. James Park (downtown San José)

GRADES 5 – 6
GRADE 5 STANDARDS: LA Listening & Speaking 1.1, 1.2, 1.3
GRADE 6 STANDARDS: SS 6.2.5, 6.7.8; LA Listening & Speaking 1.3

Students embark on a docent-led walking tour of the buildings near St. James Square and discover the Egyptian, Grecian, Roman and Mexican influences on San José architecture. Students prepare for their History Hike with a pre-tour activity at the Fallon House site. The History Hike concludes in St. James Park.

Time: Wednesdays
10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Group Size: 20 minimum, 35 maximum
Cost: Minimum $100.00, $5.00 per student
Chaperones: Minimum of three (3) chaperones
