William Geiger's Orchard near Willow Street & Cherry Avenue, c. 1885.

William Geiger owned 14 acres on Willow Street between Cherry Avenue and Los Gatos Creek. Most of the acreage was planted in cherry trees. Small family orchards like this one thrived in the Santa Clara Valley. Families could make a decent living selling their harvests to packing houses and canneries.
