Del Monte Asparagus Tips Label, 1926.

By the 1920’s, Del Monte was a nationally recognized brand. The California Packing Corporation always used the phrase “Del Monte quality” to describe the excellence of their product. When the government proposed to set standards for “high quality” and “standard quality”, Calpak protested that it had no need for such distinctions, because Del Monte quality was always the highest quality.
